Escapees Chapter 8
The Mexican Connection Wine to Whales Baja Caravan
Official Registration Information
The Chapter 8 Executive Board and the various Mexican Connection volunteers who have made this Wine to Whales Baja Caravan possible welcome your participation in this multi-destination multi-faceted adventure South of the Border down Mexico way.
We have included a broad spectrum of cultural experiences, a wide array of scenic vistas, an expanded range of activities and optional adventures, several locations never before on any caravan, plus advantages of SKP camaraderie that has set the Mexican Connection apart for nearly 38 years. Having a fun filled 21 day caravan in an exotic land for such a low cost has been made possible through SKP Volunteerism before, during and after the Caravan. An equivalent commercial tour (which does not presently exist) would cost many times more.
One reason is that many of the costs of camping venues and activities have been especially discounted for Chapter 8 due to the Charity donations made to bona fide recipients in pueblos along the Caravan route. It should be noted that it has become a Chapter 8 tradition to make the first charitable donation to the Escapees CARE program. The Caravan participants are welcome to participate in the selection process of charity applicants.
The Chapter 8 Wagonmasters 2018 have included several special interest activities which will be available as optional activities subject to any minimum number of participant requirements and payment of any additional fees. The list of optional events includes unique restaurants, a unique wine & cheese factory, a Zip-line Adventure Park with rental ATVs, horseback riding, water sports, etc., colorful cave paintings, unusual museums, ancient missions, mammoth sand dunes and awe inspiring Pacific beaches.
The Caravan has drawn so much interest among SKPs that The Caravan is likely destined for an early sell out. Registrants should be aware that full-hook-up campgrounds for such large caravans are virtually non-existent along our Baja California route. Consequently, “dry camping” is the rule rather than the exception. However, provisions have been made for emptying black and gray tanks and for filling fresh water tanks. When electricity is available, it will be assigned with medical priorities and fairness concerns whenever possible. Acceptance of your Registration is contingent upon full completion of all applicable parts of this form, successfully emailing it to Chapter 8 in a timely fashion including completing payment by using the PayPal link provided.
