We hope you aren’t planning to race your RV during our Mexico rallies on either the highway or overland through the rugged terrain of sand dunes, beaches, rutted, and wet dirt roads.
If you really interested in racing, then you should look into the Baja 100 race. Despite the harsh conditions the race, it is one of the most prestigious off-road races in the world and attracts competitors from around the world.
Started in 1967 the Baja <###> race has a misleading name as the race distance varies according to the type of event and vehicle. Distances vary from 400 to 1,000 miles. Every other race is either a point-to-point race from Ensenada to La Paz or a loop race starting and finishing in Ensenada. There are multiple classes of contestants and, thus, many winners in different divisions.
There will be an opportunity to visit the Pabloff race team facility on our rally. The Pabloff Racing Team and the workshop where custom race vehicles are built have been made available to Chapter 8 as a favor in the past. We have sought permission for this rally to include them, but we have not yet received the final permission to announce their rally participation. Chapter 8’s Baja RV 1000 in 2025 is also approximately 1,000 miles long one way from near the USA border to La Paz. Thus, the 2025 rally name takes its cue from the exciting Baja 1000 and is a wee bit slower RV trip from the border to La Paz.
